Parks and Play Areas

At the urging of the Parish Council, Vale Royal Borough Council provided improved playground equipment on the green area off Princess Road. This is greatly enjoyed by younger children who have started to call it “The Park”.

The village Parish Field is off Chapel Lane adjacent to the Village Hall. There are goal posts for junior football.

Shakerley Mere

A former sand quarry. When production ceased in the early sixties it filled with water and is now a haven for wildlife, birds and fish.

It is well used by dog walkers, those who enjoy walking, feeding the many ducks and swans, fishing (licences available) and watching wildlife in a pleasant environment.
